Description
Make a statement with this Sterling Silver Bone Ring and Wrist Wear Set.
The brilliance of Sterling Silver will not be the only reason this Bone Ring and Wrist Wear set will have them talking.
The Story – This is a totally tongue in cheek piece born out of the frustration of a hand injury that stopped me from being able to made for six months. This of course caused some form of temporary insanity and once I was again able to use said hand I used the x-rays to create an exhibition piece called obedience. Which was a full set of bones of my right hand (the injured offender) carved in wax and cast in sterling silver this piece.
A second set of finger bones were cast at the same time and these pieces were created from the individual bones. Bones. They are the last earthly traces of the dead, and seem to last forever: bones symbolize the indestructible life (it represents resurrection in some traditions), yet also may represent mortality and the transitory.
The solid sterling silver ring is carved to represent the Phalanges. Weighing 11 grams the design is that of an open ring so the sizing can be altered between “P” & “S” without gap but can be sized as high as “U” without losing the look (please advise your size when ordering). The wrist wear is 16 grams of solid sterling silver and is highlighted with the carved piece bone piece representing the Metacarpal. Secured with the Stag Signature handmade chain with an overall length of 21.5 cm.
Worn together or as separate pieces they are eye-catching and unique.
